Building Drainage System Design for Tall Buildings: Current Limitations and Public Health Implications

چکیده

National design guides provide essential guidance for the of building drainage systems, which primarily ensure basic objectives preventing odor ingress and cross-transmission disease through water-trap seal retention. Current system only extend to buildings 30 floors, while modern tall frequently over 100 exceeding predictive capability current in terms operating conditions. However, same are being used as would be low-rise buildings. A complicating factor is historic roots standards (including interpretation governing fluid mechanics principles margins safety), causing many differences exist conditions internationally, such minimum trap retention requirements, stack-to-vent cross-vent spacing, even stack diameter. The also differ size scale systems they cover, most make no allowance specific requirements This paper assesses limitations applying when applied case Primarily, assessments this research based on codes from Europe, USA Australia/New Zealand representative common approaches other derived. numerical simulation model, AIRNET, was analysis tool. Our findings confirm that guides, have been out date a number decades, now urgent need updating code-compliant shown susceptible depletion, risk disease, major public health concern, particularly view COVID-19 pandemic.

OPTIMUM DESIGN OF TMD SYSTEM FOR TALL BUILDINGS

High tall buildings are more susceptible to dynamic excitations such as wind and seismic excitations. In this paper, design procedure and some current applications of tuned mass damper (TMD) were studied. TMD was proposed to study response of 20 storey height building to seismic excitations using time history analysis with and without the TMD. The study indicates that the response of structur...

Current Design of High-Rise Building Drainage System in Taiwan

The main purpose of the research is to find the solution of drainage issues in high-rise building through the observation and basic study of stack fluid mechanism. Firstly, we will investigate the existing high-rise buildings and summarize the design methodology from our previous researches. Through the observations and reviews, this paper would conclude the solutions for existing drainage prob...

Design of Tall Buildings – Preliminary Design

The design of tall buildings essentially involves a conceptual design, approximate analysis, preliminary design and optimization, to safely carry gravity and lateral loads. The design criteria are, strength, serviceability, stability and human comfort. The strength is satisfied by limit stresses, while serviceability is satisfied by drift limits in the range of H/500 to H/1000. Stability is sat...

Learning Design Rules for Wind Bracings in Tall Buildings

This paper describes a methodology for applying machine learning to problems of conceptual design, and presents a case study of learning design rules for wind bracings in tall buildings. Design rules are generated by induction from examples of minimum weight designs. This study investigates the applicability of machine learning methods which are capable of constructive induction, that is of aut...
